Airfield Electrical Vault Rehabilitation

Project Description

To improve the electrical infrastructure at the Las Cruces Airport. Construct electrical improvements and replace electrical vault and associated equipment to maintain integrity of the airfield electrical system and ensure compliance with FAA Part 139 regulations, certification requirements and NEC standards. Electrical vault is anticipated and the airfield lighting it supports is experiencing frequent intermittent outages, which negatively impacts the safety of the pilots using the airport at night. This is a safety-critical matter and though numerous repairs have been attempted, the problem has continued. The existing electrical vault is undersize and does not meet current code requirements for equipment separation. Life safety equipment will also be added and standardized.
